Rory Kane, LCSW
Therapist
Rory works with people who appear to be functioning well on the outside but are struggling to hold it all together on the inside. When anxiety begins to interfere with sleep, relationships, or the ability to enjoy life, Rory helps clients slow things down, regain balance, and feel more like themselves again. She also supports clients through periods of depression and anxiety attacks, offering practical strategies to help them cope and move forward.
An LGBTQIA+ ally, Rory (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who uses a strengths-based approach to create an open, supportive therapeutic space. She works with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, trauma-related experiences, and mood disorders.
Based on each client’s comfort level, Rory may incorporate her psychiatric facility dog, WRIGHT, into sessions. WRIGHT’s calm, nonjudgmental presence can help clients feel grounded in the present moment, ease anxiety, and create a sense of comfort and safety during therapy.
Rory grew up in North Carolina and earned both her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She describes herself as adventurous, empathetic, and deeply passionate about her work. Outside of the therapy room, Rory enjoys hiking with WRIGHT, playing guitar and humming a tune, volunteering in the community, and spending time with family.
WRIGHT is an outgoing, affectionate Golden Retriever who loves cuddling, swimming in the ocean, enjoying tasty treats, and making new friends.
